Here’s How You Can Pay ‘Zakat Fitrah’ Online As Announced By Majlis Agama Islam Negeri Johor

A few more days until Ramadan and it is time for Muslims to perform fasting. In order to protect the problem and safety of ‘Amil Fitrah’ from the risk of transmission and infection of the COVID-19 outbreak, Majlis Agama Islam Negeri Johor (MAINJ) announced that this year, ‘Amil Fitrah’ is not commissioned to collect ‘Zakat’. However, Johoreans can make the payment of ‘Zakat Fitrah’ this year online.

No Payment Of ‘Zakat Fitrah’ Through ‘Amil Fitrah’ in Johor

The Johor State Fatwa Committee after being endorsed by the Johor State Islamic Religious Council (MAINJ) and receiving the consent of the Honorable Sultan of Johor, has set the Zakat Fitrah rate for 1441H equivalent to 2020M at two rates of RM 7.00 (Seven Ringgit Only) and RM10.00 (Ten Ringgit Only).

  1. . RM 7.00: Muslims in the state of Johor making their daily rice intake of the ‘Super Tempatan’ type.
  2.  RM 10.00: Muslims in the state of Johor making their daily rice instead of the ‘Super Tempatan’ varieties (Imported Rice) such as ‘Beras Wangi’, Basmathi Rice, and others.

Moreover, for online zakat payment method, Majlis Agama Islam Negeri Johor provides the following facilities:

3. SnapNPay

Here’s an additional info, there’s a bank charge of RM 0.50 to the account holders for payment via FPX in addition to the ‘Zakat’ price for each transaction. Also, the official receipt of the payment will be emailed to the payer.

Make An Early Payment!

Online zakat payments are encouraged to be paid as early as Ramadan. Meanwhile, payments can be made starting from 8 AM on May 24, 2020 (before Hari Raya Prayer) to ensure smooth payment transactions.
