Continuous heavy rain since Saturday night caused several areas in Johor to be flooded again, with people hardly having the time to recover from the floods that hit them from 2nd January. The number of flood victims in Johor decreased slightly to 3,598 people compared to 3,603 floods housed in 42 temporary evacuation centers (PPS) so far.

In addition, Pontian is the latest district to be affected by the second wave of floods in the state which started yesterday. This makes the districts affected by the floods increased to seven districts namely Pontian, Segamat, Mersing, Kluang, Kota Tinggi, Johor Bahru and Kulai.
Moreover, state Health and Environment Committee chairman R Vidyananthan said although rain had stopped in most areas of the state, precautions and monitoring were still ongoing due to unpredictable weather conditions.
