Located in Kampung Parit Setongkat, Oyster Bay Muar has long been considered the “Muar hotspot”  and it’s a collaborative project between the Johor State Department, Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM) Pagoh, and the local people to establish a research lab that includes an oyster farm and a floating restaurant in order to increase local tourism.

Oyster Bay Muar’s philosophy revolves around bringing fresh seafood to the heartlands, and their menu is full of amazing dishes at great prices! Their must-try is, of course, the oyster platter which contains a combination of raw oysters topped with a tangy and spicy sauce, baked oyster cheese, and deep-fried oyster. Apart from that, if you’re not keen on oysters, they have a selection of main dishes from Tomyum Seafood to Grilled fish.

Also, according to the owner of Oyster Bay Muar, these oysters are wild oysters that live naturally in the Muar River and they have a laboratory to conducts research on the life of this thick-shelled animal.

Moreover, Oyster Bay Muar also lets you experience oyster farming. It will give you the most authentic way possible, with packages that they describe as true “seafood extravaganzas”. Guests will learn how oysters grow and how they’re farmed and the history of oyster farming in the Muar River.
