It’s a given that starting your day without breakfast is a big no-no! We can’t possibly let that happen to you because we care for you guys too much. Nowhere else resounds more loudly with “early bird catches the worm”. The owners of Bukit Chagar Roti Canai open their shop as early as 7am to cater to the working peeps and let me warn you, they’ll close the shop earlier if they’re finished. So, no time to waste!

2. Salahuddin Bakery

Salahuddin Bakery has been in business since 80 years ago and till today, they still get customers coming in early in the morning for some fresh and hot bread! You’ll have to go extra early to get your hands on the bread. But no worries, if you can’t, there’ll be yummy assortment biscuits waiting for you!

3. Hiap Joo Bakery

Labelled as the best place in Johor to get banana cake, expect to find a long queue before you unless you’re super early! What makes Hiap Joo different from any other bakery is that they still use the traditional method to make their bread. How traditional can it get? Well, the hole-in-the-wall wood-fired oven speaks for itself. The only bakery you need!

I can definitely say that they’ve mastered the skills of frying their chicken chop to the perfect crunchiness, topped with homemade mouth-watering gravy, you won’t be a able to resist! If you’re still unsatisfied after having their chicken chop then go on and order their toast bread. It’s an item that is super popular with customers as well. Don’t miss out!

Dinner with friends over at this place is always a good idea, no fault in that because they serve super tasty fried rice that comes in wrapped banana leaf. Don’t forget to order their ikan bakar and sotong bakar as well! The flavour of the sambal used for their ikan bakar is perfectly infused into the flesh of the fish, every bite is a burst of flavours!

Flavourfully herbal roasted duck is what you can’t miss here! The duck meat around the boney parts is just full of texture – chewy, crispy and soft.
