This Old-School Fast Food Outlet In Segamat Has Been Operating Since The ’80s

Hello Foodies! There’s no denying that warm, fuzzy feeling that comes from biting into the burger you’ve been enjoying since you were a kid. And thanks to the boom of fast-food chains in the 1970s and 1980s, we’ve been able to munch the same fried chicken and burger for decades. But do you know, before the appearance of McDonald’s, KFC, Pizza Hut, and other giants of the ’80s, Mcdota is the first fast-food chain that landed in Malaysia? And there is one outlet in Segamat that is still operating to this day!

At its pinnacle in the 1980s, the legendary McDota was opened in Malaysia before the emergence of McDonald’s in Malaysia. The McDota Fried Chicken franchise at that time was not only in Malaysia but also in Singapore and Indonesia. Currently, McDota only has 2 outlets, that is in Segamat, Johor, and Sungai Petani, Kedah.

Holding its name and business throughout the years, they have also added new items on the menu to keep up with the latest food trend. The first thing to try is definitely the Combo set which is actually the signature menu. They did not alter the recipe as the crispy chicken still maintains its juiciness and tenderness after all these years!

Back To The ’80s!

The best part is that McDota’s generous portions are all perfect for sharing. Whether you’re dining as a couple or having a small family dinner, you’ll no longer need to fight over where to go as you’ll have a variety of choices at McDota! So, when you’re in Segamat, don’t forget to head on down to McDota to grab a bite of nostalgia!
