The very first spot on our list of the best eats around Skudai is this infamous Nasi Kukus spot, all the way from Kelantan. T.O.S Nasi Kukus is an eatery that was and still is the talk of the town as they are also featured in many local newspapers. T.O.S stands for Taste of Steam, which we boldly guess is the fragrant aroma that comes with the steamed rice, aka Nasi Kukus. The owner, Mr Chua built up this humble eatery that specialises in Nasi Kukus back in 2017 due to his overwhelming cravings for Kelantanese Nasi Kukus. Oh, one more fun fact; loyal fans are willing to queue 4 hours for their incredible taste of steam.

Though the restaurant has gain significant expansion throughout the years, the owner remains humbly tucked in his white Teochew top while Teochew soap operas waft from the TV. Truly nostalgic. Also, did you guys know that the pot used to braise the duck remains unchanged since 40 years ago? Rumour has it that this is to provide the duck meats with extra flavour. True enough, the duck meat here has a tender texture and well-braised flavour. Pair it with a bowl of Koay Teow Kia and dip the duck meat into the signature chilli sauce will create and explosion of flavours on your tastebuds.

The Char Siew meat here leans more towards the fatty side but it’s what makes Char Siew irresistible right? Here’s the best part; you can opt for more add-on items such as egg and also extra Wantons (yes, please!). Of course, nothing beats the star dish here; the springy egg noodles.

It’s none other than their spicy chicken with up to 6 levels of spiciness! So, if you consider yourself as a spicy lover, then we’ll highly suggest you guys try the most spicy level. Also, the spicy chicken doesn’t end at Mala level, some say it’s even higher than that!
