German Butter Cookies: Easily Make These Pastel-Coloured, Melt-In-Your-Mouth Treats At Home

Soft And Buttery German Cookies Recipe To Make At Home!

Original German Cookies are just plain in colour with some improvisation, we can make the traditional cookies blossoming with bright, pastel colours. Looking absolutely cute and delicious, go ahead and scroll down for the whole recipe!

Ingredients 

Pure Butter – room temperature (250 gm)
Icing Sugar – sifted (80 gm)
Potato Starch (250 gm)
Cake Flour or Superfine (160 gm)
Vanilla Extract (1 Teaspoon)
Food Coloring

Step 1: Preheat the oven at 160°C/320°F.

Step 2: Sift cake flour and potato starch and set aside. In another bowl, beat butter and icing sugar using a mixer until fluffy.

Step 3: Add in the dry ingredients and mix with a spatula until soft.

Step 4: Divide the dough into several portions and place a few colors and flavors, mixing well to get the desired colour.

Additional info, make sure to drop bit by bit the food coloring to the dough, that way you will get the soft pastel colours.

Step 5: Then, wrap each bowl in plastic wrap and store in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.

Step 6: Remove the dough, round it into small balls about 2cm, and arrange it on a baking tray that has been placed ​​with baking paper. Then press each ball with a fork to get a pattern.

Step 7: Bake in the oven for 15 minutes but make sure the cookies do not bake until brown. Let it cool down and they’re ready to eat!
