Hello there foodies! We survived the very first month of 2020! Bring it on February! With a new month approaching us pretty soon, why not we pause for a little and look at what’s new to try in January? If you’re bored of the same ol’ things, then this list will come in handy to you. 1. McDonald’s Cheesecake Soft Serve & Spicy Nuggets

Kicking off the list is none other than McDonald’s! As we all already know, McD is known for its creativity. This January, be sure to try out their new addition, Spicy Chicken McNuggets! Once you’re done with nuggets, it’s time to continue the streak and try out the Cheesecake Soft Serve! Sweet and cheesy, it guarantees to put a smile on your face. So, head over to McD now!

2. 1901

Remember how in the past, our favourite hot dogs cart is none other than 1901? Well, it’s once again re-operating in JB so this means it’s time to relive nostalgic memories! Back in the ’90s, the famous 1901 Hot Dogs cart is located at Komtar Raya and is always visited by the people of Johor Bahru. Now it is back again operating in Petronas Kempas Lama! Be sure to try out their unique flavours such as New York Chicken, Coney Dog and more!

3. Yomie’s Rice x Yogurt Mount Austin

Scrolling through social media, you’ll already notice that the bubble tea hype is slowing down. And when one trend slows down, the other is bound to be on the rise. Well, we foresee that Yomie’s Rice x Yogurt is one trend that will be around for some time. Established in Sydney, Australia, this yogurt drink brand is the current ongoing hype for all foodies now. Try out the original Purple Rice Yogurt, or perhaps, opt for the Yogurt & Fruits drink.

4. Black Hojicha Cornetto

The next new thing to try in Johor this January is none other than this super gothic Black Hojicha Cornetto. If you’re a huge fan of ice cream, you’ll probably already know that the Black Hojicha Cornetto was only available in our neighbouring countries of Indonesia and Thailand. Now, it’s finally available in Malaysia. Just get them from your nearest Shell petrol station, and you’ll be greeted by molten chocolate lava oozing out from the ice cream too.

5. 4Fingers Tomyum Pop

Next up is this brand new flavour from 4Fingers, the Tomyum Pop! Now imagine your favourite drummette hand-brushed with Tomyum sauce and topped with popping candies. So upon your first bite, you’ll find that they’re explosively yummy. These new sensations are available in Boneless Chicken Bites, Drumsticks, and Wingettes & Drumettes. Also, they’re available for a limited time only so hurry!

6. SS9 Restaurant

Located at Taman Pelangi, there are about 200 ++ menus in SS9. On the ground floor, they have 100 tables and on the upper floor, it is still in the process of being refurbished but can accommodate over 80 tables for customers to dine-in! Furthermore, there is a selection of foods from Warisan Wak Radol, Vietnam Food Hall, Adam Hawa Cafe 2.0, Restoran Al Alamin and more.

7. Shao Mei Brown Sugar Boba Ice Cream Bar

Now, imagine your favourite cup of Bubble Tea, but in the form of ice cream. Sounds great? This amazing ice cream flavour originates from Taiwan and it’s finally here in Malaysia. Just get it from your local convenienc store, 7-Eleven. Essentially, they consist of fresh and creamy milk ice cream with an outer layer of dark brown sugar syrup. Also, how can they forget those pearls right? Yup, there will be chewy pearls(made of rice flour mocha & brown sugar) in these ice cream bars. Perfect.

8. KFC Spicy Chick ‘n Go

Moving on, let’s put your imagination to the test again. Imagine having your favourite fried chicken on the go. This means you can savour fried chicken despite your busy schedule because it comes in a pocket-friendly size. It has convenience written all over it. Make way for the brand new KFC Spicy Chick ‘n Go, that’s available at only RM4.90. Thanks, KFC that’s definitely a great way to savour fried chicken.

9. GSC PlayPlus

GSC PlayPlus is a brand new family-friendly cinema in Johor Bahru. Essentially, it allows parents to sit back and enjoy watching movies with their little ones. So, forget about being a distraction to other movie-goers. In addition to that, GSC PlayPlus is also a playground that’s filled with fun games, interactive toys, reading corner and even a slide leading into a colourful ball pit. Thus, when you’re done with the movie, you can spend more time bonding with your little ones. You can find GSC PlayPlus in The Mall, Mid Valley Southkey.

10. Teh Tarik Sandwich

Ending our list of something new to try out this January is yet another unique ice cream rendition. Teh Tarik Sandwich is the latest product released by the collab between Wall’s and Lipton. The ice cream sandwich comes in a bright, iconic Lipton orange & yellow packaging. Also, there are two halves of different flavours whereby one side is the milk-flavoured ice cream while the other is the tea-flavoured ice cream. Now, we can all bite Teh Tarik.
