This New Restaurant in Johor Bahru Serves Various Indo-Asian Fares That Makes You Drool

Like all other malls, there are plenty of F&B joints in Toppen that will leave no one hungry. We paid one of them a visit so just keep reading if you’re looking for some good food. Put your hands together for Simply Enak, a restaurant specialising in Indo-Asian cuisine.

Simply Enak: Ikan Bakar, Ayam Bakar & More Delicious Fares

Here at Simply Enak, you’ll get a wide variety of Indonesian-Asian fusion fares. Whenever you’re ready, just keep scrolling for more saliva-drooling pictures!

Dancing Fish

The very first item that we’ve tried out is the Dancing Fish. As it rings true to its name, the presentation of this Talapia fish indeed looks like it’s strutting its moves. This dish consists of Talapia fish that’s deep-fried until it reaches a texture of golden brown perfection. Dancing Fish isn’t just interesting in terms of its presentation, in fact the fish has a tender and juicy texture that complements well with the home-made sweet sambal chilli sauce.

Ikan Bakar

If you’re looking to satiate your cravings of delicious Ikan Bakar, then you’ll be delighted to know that you can get them from Simply Enak. Also, you can pick between Live Talapia or Live Seabass which will be grilled with Simply Enak’s home-made sauce. The sauce consists of spices from all over the world which results in a savoury gravy topped on the grilled fish.

Portuguese Pari Bakar

One more item that we highly recommend you guys to try out is the Portuguese Pari Bakar. The ‘Pari’ fish is layered with banana leaf, drizzled with signature sauce before wrapping it up with aluminium foil. Also, this dish is accompanied with ladyfingers for a well-balanced and complementing overall flavour.

Cumi Cumi Bakar

Seafood lovers must most definitely try out the Cumi Cumi Bakar which essentially consists of Sotong Bakar. The sotong is grilled until it has a perfect and tender texture. Also, before enjoying this dish, don’t forget to squeeze the lime onto the Cumi Cumi. This adds a slightly sour taste to the dish and when combined with the sambal, creates a perfect mouth-feel.

Ayam Bakar

Of course, with all things Bakar to try out here, how can we possibly miss out on Ayam Bakar? Ayam Bakar dish is grilled with home made sauce, similar to the one used for Ikan Bakar. Also accompanying this dish is the sweet-spicy sambal belacan. The Ayam Bakar, with its savoury taste pairs very well with plain white rice. This is definitely a hearty meal that we can have for days.

Pineapple Juice

Once we’re done with savouring all the items at Simply Enak, it’s time for desserts! Besides, a meal is never complete without drinks and desserts right? Simply Enak serves one of the freshest juices we’ve tried, especially the Pineapple Juice. This juice is served in an entire pineapple fruit and it’s like the perfect refreshment after a heavy meal.

Melon Bingsu With Coconut Ice Cream

Dessert lovers will be on their feet knowing that Simply Enak serves two types of dessert options too! One is the Melon Bingsu and the other is the Red Bean Coconut Pudding With Coconut Ice Cream. Without a doubt, we love the Melon Bingsu dessert that’s served in a whole melon. A generous portion of melon is served alongside this dessert as well as a scoop of saliva-drooling coconut ice cream.

As a final verdict, Simply Enak is one of the few eateries in Toppen Shopping Centre that we will highly recommend everyone to try out. Besides, it’s not easy to locate eatery that serves authentic Indonesian fares, with a slight Asian-fare twist.
