Hello there foodies! It’s Day 2 of Raya and have you guys been feasting non-stop? As we are all aware, any house-visits are not permitted during the CMCO. This is just one of the few measures to ensure the safety of Malaysians. In addition to that, during the CMCO, operating businesses must adhere to strict SOPs. This is a preventive measure to keep COVID-19 at bay. However, we have a piece of sad news for you guys today. One of JB’s largest shopping, AEON Mall Tebrau City is set to temporarily close for a week.
AEON Mall Tebrau City JB Temporarily Closes For 1 Week
If you’re a business owner, you’ll know that basic SOPs include a one-meter distance from each customer and to limit the number of shoppers/patrons in a confined space.
An official statement is made on AEON Retail Malaysia’s Facebook page, citing that the reason for closure is that MOH (has) “asked us to step up and take extra precaution to ensure better crowd control and social distancing”.
So, as AEON was reported not to abide by the SOPs, the Ministry Of Health has ordered the mall to temporarily close. The closure began yesterday (25th Of May) and will remain closed until 1st of June. This 1-week time period will provide AEON Mall Tebrau City with ample time to implement the SOPs. In addition to that, sanitisation works will also be carried out.
Opt For A Safer Shopping Method
If you’re a regular shopper there, then you need to take note of this. So, for the time being, you can carry out grocery shopping elsewhere, or better yet, try out online shopping. COVID-19 is a silent killer and we’re not quite safe from this pandemic, just yet. Always remember to stay safe!
