Here’s How You Can Make Crispy Sweet Potato Cheese Balls At Home

Hello Foodies! Who doesn’t like fry thing food? Coated in a flour batter and some breadcrumbs for an extra crunch. Eat it while it’s hot, plus if there is cheese, it surely will increase the appetite. So in today’s entry, let’s whip up this easy sweet potato cheese balls recipe!

Many people might think it’s weird to combine something sweet with savoury. But this recipe can confirm that food can have 2 types of flavors. And seeing as how it’s widely-loved by many, the sweet and salty combination definitely works. Curious? why don’t you try this sweet potato cheese balls recipe first!

Ingredients:

Sweet Potato (350gm)
(boiled and mashed)
Glutinous rice flour (1 1/2 Cups)
Rice flour (1/2 Cup)
Sugar (1/2 Cup)
Baking powder (1 teaspoon)
Salt
Water
Bread crumbs

A mixture of wheat flour + water
Shredded Cheddar cheese
Oil

Step 1: In a medium bowl, combine Sweet Potato, glutinous rice flour, rice flour, sugar, baking powder and salt. Add water and mix well until a dough forms.

Step 2: Divide dough into 2 portions and roll into a 1.5-inch thick log shape. Cut into 2-inch size pieces and roll into a ball.

Step 3: Place shredded Cheddar in the center of the dough, wrap it and roll it back into a ball.

Quick info: Apply oil on the palms to get a perfect ball roll & do not stick to the hands.

Step 4: Coat the balls fully in the batter. Then, lightly cover with breadcrumbs before carefully placing into the frying oil.

Step 5: Fry for about 5 minutes until golden brown. Place on a baking sheet lined with a paper towel so it can absorb any excess oil. Serve while the cheese is still gooey and enjoy!
